*SQUEEZE LIME IN YOUR EYE*
*English and Hindi, Colour, HD video, 57 minutes*
Discarded household gadgets that are disassembled. Their incongruous parts paired in unexpected combinations to create objects that occupy the space at the peculiar intersection of toy, machine and organism. Kausik Mukhopadhyay's art objects have distinct personalities and quirks. They are humorous, noisy and sometimes break down. There is a sense of the unexpected as they invite the viewer to engage and complete the narratives embedded within them -- narratives that contain fragments of political,personal and art history. There is as much beauty as there is fragility and poignancy in Mukhopadhyay's work. This film takes a detailed and intimate look at Mukhopadhyay's journey as an artist and teacher.
