Dear friends,

Chariot-processions or Rathyatras have been deployed, time and again, by
the communal right-wing parties in India, to divide people and create
communal polarisation. From Hyderabad in the mid-1980s to Ayodhya in the
early 1990s, instances of chariot-processions as calculated political
devices, designed to create tension and incite riots, resulting in
electoral dividends for the communal Right-Wing have been many! As the BJP
announces its ambitious project of a similar Rath-yatra in Bengal, it is
time to take stock of their past sins, and come together as a society to
reject chariots of hatred.

programme.
